A RECOVERY EXPERIENCE FOR FREQUENT FLYERS AND LUXURY TRAVELLERS

For discerning international travellers departing from London, comfort and wellbeing are becoming just as important as the destination itself. So what happens when one of the world’s leading luxury travel concierge brands partners with an innovative London wellness specialist?

The answer is the new partnership between Quintessentially Travel and Aurion London – a collaboration designed to redefine the long-haul travel experience for luxury travellers, frequent flyers, business executives, and VIP clients – with exclusive benefits included. Aurion is located at 27 Hill Street, Mayfair – minutes from the West End and the City’s hotels, and easily reached on the day of arrival.

Who are Aurion London?

To explore the partnership in more detail, we spoke with Andrew Barile, the co-founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Aurion London, to learn what the treatment experience entails, the key wellness and recovery benefits for clients, and why long-haul travellers are well-suited to this type of method.

QxAurion-BGR-1 (1)

Who is the ideal client for this method of recovery?

“There are two ideal clients for Aurion. The first is the jet-set traveller, because we have a jet-lag treatment. The second is people focused on performance and longevity – those looking to live and optimise at their peak.”

How quickly do clients experience the effects after treatment?

“Typically, you’ll start to feel the benefits 30 – 60 minutes post-treatment. You’ll feel lighter, calmer and more energised.”

Mayfair-Clinic-Inside-02-2

What technology does Aurion use, and how does it work?

“At Aurion, we use PureFlow, a specialist compression technology that works in rhythm with the client’s heart rate. The client lies comfortably on the treatment table while compression cuffs are applied to the legs. The system then delivers rhythmic compression in a guided sequence, creating a passive, non-invasive wellness experience designed to help clients feel lighter, calmer and more restored.”

What is the research behind PureFlow?

“PureFlow is informed by principles associated with external counterpulsation and rhythmic compression, areas that have been studied for many years in clinical and wellness contexts. At Aurion, we use PureFlow as a non-invasive wellness experience designed to support relaxation, post-travel recovery and a refreshed sense of energy.”

What exactly is Aurion's jet lag recovery protocol?

“Aurion’s post-flight recovery protocol is designed for clients returning from long-haul travel who want a structured, restorative wellness experience after landing.

The protocol includes three sessions: the first within 24 hours of arrival, the second 2–4 days post-trip, and the final session 6–8 days after return. Each session delivers around 3,000 rhythmic compression pulses while the client lies comfortably on the treatment table. The experience is designed to help clients feel lighter, calmer and more restored as they return to their routine – without physical exertion, needles or IVs.”

Eat, see & do: a journey through the Deep South https://quintessentiallytravel.com/eat-see-do-a-journey-through-the-deep-south/ Wed, 22 Apr 2026 13:48:54 +0000 https://quintessentiallytravel.com/?p=61031

YOUR INSIDE GUIDE

The American Deep South is rich in flavour, layered in history, defined by a distinct sense of place and renowned Southern charm. From the pastel-lined streets of Charleston to the moss-draped squares of Savannah, the soulful rhythm of New Orleans, and the rising cultural energy of Knoxville, this region offers a curated blend of timeless elegance and modern luxury. This inside guide is your gateway to the South’s most refined experiences – where to eat, what to see, and what to do across four of its most captivating destinations.

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

In Charleston, luxury is found in quiet courtyards, impeccable service, and a reverence for history.

Begin with a private horse-drawn carriage tour through the Historic District, where pastel mansions and wrought-iron gates tell centuries-old stories. Arrange exclusive access to preserved estates like Drayton Hall, where architectural purity and curated tours offer a more intimate understanding of the Lowcountry’s past.

For a polished afternoon, stroll along King Street, where high-end boutiques, antiques, and bespoke ateliers sit alongside heritage brands. Sunset calls for a private harbour cruise – champagne in hand, of course – as the skyline glows in soft gold.

Round out your stay with a reservation at FIG or Husk, where seasonal Southern cuisine is elevated to an art form.

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA

Savannah is perfect for travellers who appreciate beauty in every detail.

Spend your morning wandering the city’s iconic squares, particularly Chippewa Square, where Spanish moss drapes overhead and time seems suspended. For a more curated experience, book a private architectural or photography tour that reveals Savannah’s hidden courtyards and historic homes.

Art lovers should secure a guided visit to Telfair Museums or arrange early access to galleries within the Savannah College of Art and Design network.

In the afternoon, indulge in a riverfront yacht charter or a bespoke picnic in Forsyth Park, styled with local delicacies and fine wines. Evenings are best spent dining on Southern food at The Grey, a former 1938 Art Deco Greyhound Bus Terminal, where culinary innovation meets historic grandeur.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

Few places rival the sensory richness of New Orleans – a city where indulgence is practically a philosophy.

Elevate your exploration of the French Quarter with a private guide who can unlock hidden courtyards, historic mansions, and exclusive jazz performances. After exploring, arrange a martini lunch at Commander’s Palace, or indulge in Louisiana flavours and French techniques at Restaurant August.

For something truly memorable, book a private steamboat cruise along the Mississippi or a helicopter tour over the delta at golden hour. As expected, music remains the city’s heartbeat – but we’d opt for VIP seating at an intimate jazz club rather than the crowded bars of Bourbon Street.

Balance the energy with a refined afternoon in the Garden District, where grand homes and oak-lined avenues offer a quieter, more elegant perspective – best enjoyed from the iconic St. Charles Avenue Streetcar.

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE

Often overlooked, Knoxville is quietly emerging as a destination for discerning travellers seeking authenticity with a modern edge.

Start with a private guided experience through Great Smoky Mountains National Park – think sunrise hikes, fly-fishing excursions, or curated scenic drives with a naturalist. The proximity to such untouched beauty is Knoxville’s greatest luxury.

Back in the city, explore the revitalised Market Square, where boutique shopping, a year-round farmers market, artisanal goods, and a vibrant dining scene create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Arrange a private tasting at a local distillery where you’ll sip on smooth whiskey, traditional moonshine and craft gin.

For a cultural touchpoint, secure premium tickets to a performance at the Tennessee Theatre, a restored 1920s masterpiece that epitomises old-world glamour.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Across all four cities, luxury isn’t just about exclusivity – it’s about depth, authenticity, and access. The Deep South rewards those who travel well, linger longer, and seek out experiences that feel both personal and unforgettable, while remaining true to its world-renowned Southern charm, musical heritage and warm spirit.

Inside Access: Four Seasons Yachts https://quintessentiallytravel.com/inside-access-four-seasons-yachts/ Tue, 31 Mar 2026 15:09:14 +0000 https://quintessentiallytravel.com/?p=60576

Inside access: Four Seasons Yachts

In an exclusive first look at Four Seasons Yachts, we step inside a new vision of ultra-luxury at sea. Conceived as an extension of the Four Seasons philosophy, the project reimagines ocean travel through a lens of architectural calm, elevated service, and intimate scale, where every detail is designed to feel intentional rather than indulgent.

In conversation with Four Seasons Yachts CEO Ben Trodd, the ambition becomes clear: this is not a cruise in the traditional sense, but a curated experience of movement and place.

What makes this a Four Seasons experience at sea?

At its core, Four Seasons Yachts feels like a natural extension of the Four Seasons brand’s long-standing commitment to thoughtful service, beautiful design, and extraordinary experiences, brought to life at sea. Built on 65 years of operating some of the world’s greatest hotels, it reflects lessons learned and refined over decades of hospitality excellence. Yet what makes it distinct is how intentionally the experience has been designed for this environment, translating that philosophy into something that feels close to private yachting, with the hospitality of a world-class resort.

With just 95 residential-style suites, the experience is intentionally intimate and centred on privacy and personalisation. From the rotating Chef-in-Residence program featuring Michelin-recognised Four Seasons chefs to our wellness offerings and curated Sea & Shore experiences, every element is shaped around the individual guest.

Combined with access to exclusive ports and yacht-only harbours, Four Seasons Yachts offers a new way to experience the brand, pairing the freedom and flexibility of a private yacht with the service and design that define Four Seasons.

What’s the one moment guests won’t forget?

Our Marina Days are designed to bring guests closer to the water in a way that feels both effortless and immersive. We anchor in destinations such as Folegandros and the French Riviera, and the Yacht itself turns into a gateway to the sea. This is a feature that is relatively rare at this scale within yachting, and one that helps set the experience we offer apart. Our transverse marina opens directly onto the water, allowing guests to swim, enjoy both adventurous and leisurely activities, or simply take in the natural beauty. It’s a rare moment where the journey and the destination become one and, hopefully, a memory that stays with guests long after they leave.

In addition to the external experiences, we know guests will be equally shaped by their interactions with the people working on board. The yacht is built with a hospitality-first mindset, bringing the brand’s longstanding commitment to service to life in a distinctly maritime context.

One word to describe the yacht?

Intentional.

Your must-do onboard experience?

An evening at Miuna, our speakeasy-style omakase restaurant, is always a highlight. It is an intentionally intimate experience, and one that stands comfortably alongside some of the finest restaurants on land. The quality of the fish is exceptional, and the Bluefin tuna is a particular standout to me.

Equally essential is carving out time for the yacht’s wellness experiences. Our spa and wellness offering is guided by the Five Elements of Vitality, with experiences designed to support balance across mind, body, and environment. It’s a more holistic and personal expression of wellness, and I’m particularly drawn to the Ignae Azorean Rebirth Body Ritual – a treatment inspired by the natural beauty of the Azores.

Which voyage are you most excited about?

I’m especially excited about our Adriatic voyages. The port of Komiža in Croatia, in particular, is an unspoiled gem. It’s a destination where natural beauty, culture, and history effortlessly converge. What excites me most is that guests don’t have to choose between adventure, discovery, or relaxation on our voyages. They can experience it all, seamlessly, within a single journey with the help of our team.

How personalised is the experience?

Personalization is at the heart of everything we do. With a 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio, every aspect of the journey is tailored. Our Experience Team connects with guests in advance to understand their preferences, from dining and wellness to how they want to explore each destination. Whether on board or ashore, every moment is designed to feel intuitive, seamless, and entirely their own.

What’s your favourite spot onboard?

I have many, but I’m especially drawn to the Horizon Lounge. It’s an adults-only space, designed to evoke the spirit of Mediterranean beach clubs. It’s rooted in a sense of nostalgia, yet equally about creating new memories. I often find myself there at sunset, enjoying a cocktail and the spectacular views with friends and family as the light fades into evening. As day turns to night, it becomes a natural setting for stargazing, and one of the most special places on board.

Ancient Greece & Cycladic Islands

From the bustling streets of Athens, rich with ancient history and cultural treasures, to the idyllic and coveted shores of Kéa Island – this is where our Head of Product and Partnerships, Lily, embarked on a journey with luxury hotelier, One&Only, that perfectly balances adventure with laidback luxury.

Keep reading for her expert insight into each resort, combining both as a multi-stop Greek getaway.

One&Only Aesthesis

Location

Tucked into the coastal suburbs of Athens, One&Only Aesthesis strikes the perfect balance between city access and a true resort escape. There’s a hint of St. Tropez energy here – think chic beach clubs, lively local tavernas where Sunday lunches stretch well into the evening, and yes, dancing on tables isn’t entirely unheard of.

The Hotel

Sleek, contemporary, and effortlessly stylish, the One&Only is built on the footprint of the iconic Athens Riviera Hotel, once the glamorous playground of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. That glamour hasn’t faded. Evenings are made for post-dinner cocktails at the exclusive Sunset Bar, rejuvenating moments at the Guerlain Spa, or a lively match on the padel courts. And the food? Absolutely worth writing home about – Manko, in particular, is the place to be.

Insider Tips

If privacy is your thing, seafront rooms or private homes are the way to go. And trust me, catching the sunset from the adults-only beach or the Sunset Bar is an absolute must.

One&Only Kea Island

Location

The unspoilt island of Kea feels like a well-kept secret. With its authentic Greek charm – local tavernas, untouched beaches, hiking trails, and a genuine sense of being off the map – it’s a destination for those craving a slower pace of life.

The Hotel

Rugged, romantic, and effortlessly luxurious – it’s perfect for couples seeking an escape that feels both secluded and insider-savvy. Villas cascade down dramatic cliffs, and though the resort is expansive, it somehow manages to feel intimate and exclusive. Exploring the resort, I loved discovering the impressive architecture and soaking in incredible views at every turn. The three-level spa – the largest in the One&Only portfolio – is an absolute must, as are afternoons at Bond Beach Club and cocktails in the secret speakeasy.

Insider Tips

Kea is a hidden gem, perfect for discerning travellers who crave discovery. For the ultimate experience, book a cliffside or panoramic villa. Don’t miss a visit to the charming local village of Iloulis, ideal for a leisurely lunch or a drink at a taverna where locals gather.

Five reasons to visit Japan in autumn https://quintessentiallytravel.com/five-reasons-to-visit-japan-in-autumn/ Tue, 02 Sep 2025 11:21:18 +0000 https://quintessentiallytravel.com/?p=57595

Five reasons to visit Japan in Autumn

While spring’s cherry blossoms during Sakura season attract the biggest crowds, Japan’s autumn has its own magic – crisp air, vibrant foliage, and fewer tourists.

Here’s why you should consider visiting one of the most sought-after destinations in a season that is often an afterthought.

Spectacular foliage

Autumn foliage in Japan is unique, thanks to the mix of trees and diverse landscapes. The most iconic of them all is, undoubtedly, the maple trees. The rich tapestry of colour varies from deep crimson red, scarlet and warm orange. Trees like ginkgo are famous for their dazzling golden-yellow, fan-shaped leaves, and when you mix these vibrant colours with breathtaking mountainside settings, temples, shrines, and Japanese gardens, the result is like walking inside a painting.

Seasonal festivals & traditions

Moon-viewing

Tsukimi is known as moon-viewing. Many will gather to honour the autumn moon, savour the seasonal harvest and share offerings made towards wishes for good health and a bountiful future.

The Kurama Fire Festival

An annual torch-lit festival, held in Kurama, near Kyoto. The ancient custom welcomes kami spirits to the village, which are believed to influence nature, protect and guide, and maintain balance.

The Nihonmatsu Lantern Festival

This vibrant centuries-old festival is held over three days in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima. Parades of enormous taikodai floats become the centrepiece of the festival, decorated with over 300 red paper lanterns, lit from a sacred flame from the Nihonmatsu Shrine.

Seasonal food & drink

Autumn brings a bountiful harvest of Pacific saury (sanma), chestnuts (kuri), persimmons (kaki), and sweet potatoes (imo). Seasonal menus and delicacies appear across street food vendors, izakaya menus, restaurants, and big-name chains.

Savour Tsukimi Dango, a dumpling to be eaten during moon-viewing, swig on Hiyaoroshi, a seasonal sake, and satisfy your sweet tooth with a maple leaf-shaped Wagashi.

Wonderful weather

Typically known as one of the most comfortable seasons of the year, visitors can expect a cooler temperature, perfectly complemented by clear blue skies and fall foliage. Each month can vary, and it depends on the region you’re visiting. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

September

  • Temperature: 20 – 30°C (68 – 86°F), feeling like the end of summer, with cooler evenings
  • Weather: Humid at the start before eventually becoming drier

October

  • Temperature: 15 – 25°C (59 – 77°F), much more comfortable and popular for leaf viewing and hiking
  • Weather: Crisp and clear, with less rain than September and blue skies

November

  • Temperature: 10 – 20°C (50 – 68°F), on the cooler side and feels like early winter in the north, but mild in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, making it popular for onsen visits
  • Weather: Dry, crisp days with lots of sunshine, and chilly mornings and evenings

Tourism

Though still a popular time to visit Japan, international tourists typically prioritise the sakura season and catching a sight of the cherry blossoms over viewing autumn foliage. Domestic travellers find this season appealing, but overall, visiting during this time is more manageable, just as beautiful, and with fantastic weather.

So, now you’re in the know, what are you waiting for?

Vienna: the city of music https://quintessentiallytravel.com/vienna-the-city-of-music/ Tue, 03 Jun 2025 11:27:00 +0000 https://quintessentiallytravel.com/?p=56694

Classically Vienna: exploring the city of music

Explore our guide to the Austrian capital, where classical music has and continues to be a part of the culture and traditions of the Viennese, experienced by the many who flock to the city during its renowned ball season.

Vienna is a city that captivates all the senses, with its regal skyline of majestic Baroque mansions, manicured gardens and grand architecture; and the historic Ringstrasse showcasingan impressive array of buildings that reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage. Discover culinary delights throughout the city, where hearty dishes like crispy schnitzel and the decadent Sachertorte tantalise the taste buds. The charming coffee house culture offers a cosy atmosphere for savouring a cup of rich coffee while indulging in traditional sweet treats. When it comes to sound, Vienna stands in a league of its own, celebrated as the classical music capital of Europe. The opulence of the ball season, harmonious strains of orchestras, and the timeless melodies of illustrious composers echo through its concert halls; an unforgettable experience.

Operas & Concerts:
an introduction

Vienna is a city with a plethora of magnificent venues that play host to a number of unforgettable operas, shows and concerts. One of the most well known opera houses is the spectacular Staatsoper, dating back to 1869 and situated on the Ringstrassen Boulevard. There are also a number of historically significant venues known for their musical heritage and acoustics; including the Musikverein, Volksoper, Theater an der Wien, Konzerthaus, Mozarthaus, Schönbrunn Palace, Kursalon Hübner and Hofburg Palace, as well as churches such as Peterskirche and Karlskirche.

With many opportunities to see concerts and opera in Vienna, it can be difficult to know which venues to visit and what tickets to buy. From year-round concerts to special events over the festive season and summer, there’s no better place to experience the best of classical music. We’ve gathered a few of the must-see concerts, shows and operas.

Operas & Concerts:
Our top picks

Summer Night Concert
An annual event taking place in June at Schönbrunn Palace, this open-air concert is free to attend and is one of the great highlights of the Philharmonic year.

New Year’s Concert
A long-standing tradition and concert consisting of the spectacular and nostalgic music from the family of Johann Strauss and its contemporaries. An incredibly popular event at the Musikverein, tickets are drawn from applications made in February, for the upcoming New Year.

Opera at Staatsoper
For first-timers, we’d recommend any of the following iconic operas in the opulent setting of the Staatsoper.

Mozart’s le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro)
Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute)
Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (The Bat)
Puccini’s Tosca
Beethoven’s Fidelio

Ball season:
an introduction

Dating back to the 18th century, the ball season in Vienna is a long-standing tradition known for its glitz, glamour and the world-famous waltz, of course. The season coincides with Carnival, traditionally starting on 11 November and ending on Shrove Tuesday. Each year, more than 450 balls take place in Vienna across various iconic venues. If it’s your first time at a Viennese ball, the world of elegant gowns, tiaras, tailcoats and waltzing may be completely new to you. But be assured it is an enchanting experience that you will never forget. Nowhere does it quite like Vienna, steeped in tradition and heritage, we’ve curated tips and tricks to introduce you to the ball basics.

Dressing the part

To put it simply, dress to impress. For women, full-length evening or ball gowns are the norm, and white is not appropriate unless you are a debutante. Many will accessorise with gloves and jewellery. For gentlemen, a tuxedo or tailcoat is usually the go-to. However, some balls may have their own dress code, which can be found on the event website or in the invitation. As a rule of thumb, always think elegance and sophistication.

Dining and drinking

Toast to the night ahead with a glass of Austrian prosecco, and if the ball doesn’t offer a gala dinner ahead of the ceremony, be sure to book a dinner ahead of time – we recommend Silvio Nickol, Glasswing Restaurant and Restaurant OPUS. For your post-dancing re-fuel, visit one of the many traditional sausage stands, or on the night of the Opera Ball book a table at the Hotel Sacher for their exclusive After-Hour Snacks.

Waltz workshops

Learn the ball basics at one of Vienna’s esteemed dancing schools. From private tuition and group workshops, and lessons for waltz beginners to those more advanced, there’s something that will help ball-goers become best prepared for the world-famous calendar of events. There are many schools around the city, but we’d recommend heading to the prominent Rueff or Elmayer dance schools for your introduction to the world of Viennese Ball tradition.

Founded by passion, fuelled by female empowerment https://quintessentiallytravel.com/founded-by-passion-fuelled-by-female-empowerment/ Fri, 07 Mar 2025 14:46:16 +0000 https://quintessentiallytravel.com/?p=55156

For over a hundred years, International Women’s Day has celebrated the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. And with an all-female senior team here at Quintessentially Travel, we’re passionate about empowering women and shining a spotlight on trailblazers in the travel industry, this year highlighting the journey of Esin Güral Argat, the founder of JOALI, an award-winning luxury brand with two unique Maldives island resorts.

Since opening in 2018, JOALI Maldives has quickly risen to the top of luxury travellers’ bucket lists as one of the most irresistible resorts in the Maldives. And while the extraordinary appeal of the islands is evident at first glance, it is the foundation of JOALI’s founder, story and values that contributes to its remarkable success.

We caught up with Esin to delve deeper into the origin of JOALI and its unique concept, learning more about how female empowerment and passion are rooted in the resort and her three non-negotiables for success.

What was the meaning behind the name JOALI?

“JOALI is a name that embodies joy. At its heart, it represents ‘the joy of living,’ a philosophy that shapes every experience at JOALI Maldives. At JOALI BEING, this philosophy evolves into the ‘joy of weightlessness,’ a journey of wellbeing and transformation.

The name is also deeply rooted in Maldivian heritage. In Dhivehi, a ‘joali’ refers to a handcrafted woven chair, found at the entrance of nearly every island home. It is a symbol of welcome, a place where life slows down and moments of connection are cherished. With JOALI, we sought to create a haven where this same spirit comes alive. A place where artistry and nature converge to inspire a deep sense of belonging and joy.”

How did you come up with the concept?

“From the beginning, I envisioned JOALI as more than just a destination. It had to be a lifestyle, a philosophy that stays with you long after you leave. I wanted to create something with a soul, a place that would foster a deep emotional connection beyond impeccable service and stunning design.

JOALI Maldives was the first step in this journey. As the first art-immersive resort in the Maldives, it transforms the island into a living gallery through interactive installations and objets d’art. With JOALI BEING, we introduced the first wellbeing island of its kind, a sanctuary dedicated to transformation where science and ancient wisdom come together to create the ‘joy of weightlessness.’ Most recently, JOALI Island Homes redefines island living, offering a rare opportunity to own a private residence fully immersed in JOALI’s world of wellbeing.

Every element of JOALI is deeply personal to me. I was involved in every detail, from the architecture and landscaping to the carefully curated art collections and wellbeing spaces. It is a brand that continues to evolve, not just as a hospitality concept but as a way of life.”

What makes JOALI different from other Maldives properties?

“Throughout my travels, I found that while many luxury hotels offered great food, beautiful design, and intuitive service, they often lacked something deeper, a soul. What sets JOALI Maldives and JOALI BEING apart is this spirit, an energy that surrounds and connects our guests the moment they arrive. It is intangible yet deeply felt.

JOALI Maldives is the first and only art-immersive resort in the Maldives, home to over 18 interactive installations created by world-renowned artists. Culinary artistry is also a defining element, with signature restaurant concepts and menus shaped by Michelin-starred chefs, from the Nikkei cuisine at Saoke to Italian specialities at Bellinis.

At JOALI BEING, we took this vision further by introducing the first dedicated wellbeing island of its kind. With over 39 transformational spaces, guests embark on deeply personalised wellbeing journeys guided by experts in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, sound healing, and energy work. The island is designed around biophilic principles, seamlessly blending architecture with nature to create an environment of true weightlessness.

JOALI is a lifestyle brand that blurs the lines of hospitality. Through collaborations with visionary designers like Aquazzura and incredible brands such as Ruinart Champagne, immersive dining experiences with world-renowned chefs, and curated wellbeing journeys, we create unforgettable moments of joy.”

We know you are passionate about female empowerment. How do you feel this reflects in the JOALI brand?

“Empowering women has always been a personal mission for me, and it is deeply woven into JOALI’s identity. I believe that diversity is a valuable asset. At JOALI, we are committed to creating opportunities for women to grow, lead, and redefine possibilities in hospitality. In fact, JOALI Maldives and JOALI BEING have been awarded the highest female ratio for a resort in the Maldives by the Ministry of Tourism for the past two consecutive years.

Our Leadership and Gender Diversity Programme is aligned with the UN Women’s gender equality campaign, ensuring meaningful career pathways for women at every level of our organisation. Through mentorship, leadership training, and skill development, we foster an environment where women can thrive. The Women in Art initiative at JOALI Maldives, launched in 2020, provides a vital platform for emerging Maldivian female artists, allowing them to showcase their talent and collaborate with renowned creatives. We also conduct art workshops for girls in local schools, nurturing the next generation of artists and storytellers.

As an independently owned and forward-thinking brand, JOALI has the freedom to challenge conventions and champion a culture of inclusivity. We embrace new ideas, invest in the aspirations of women, and continue to shape a workplace where passion is celebrated.”

What are three things you would tell your younger self?

“If I could give my younger self three pieces of advice, the first would be to never give up. Challenges will come, but perseverance and focus always lead to results. No matter how difficult the journey, staying true to your purpose and pushing forward will always open new doors.

The second would be to surround yourself with passionate and dedicated people. Success is never built alone. It is about moving forward together, uplifting one another, and creating an environment where ideas are nurtured. A great team is one that shares not only skills but also a collective spirit of joy and purpose.

Lastly, always lead with fairness and integrity. A workplace thrives when people feel valued, respected, and inspired. True success is not just about reaching milestones; it is about shaping a journey that is meaningful, fulfilling, and shared with those who inspire you.”
